Lakeside utopia in the Finnish forest
Everything was perfect. Onni village is lakeside utopia in the Finnish forest. Cottage was clean, quiet, spacious, well stocked with necessities, great kitchen, washer/dryer, big sauna. Bonus- rowboats and cruiser bikes to use anytime. Lake Seimaa and surroundings was beautiful and peaceful beyond words. It’s a bit far and isolated, but that’s the point. (Just have everything you need for you stay). The host (Aleks) was there during our stay but no need to bother him…everything was provided and working perfectly- thank you for a wonderful and memorable stay!

A beautiful stay close to nature
ONNI Village is located in a beautiful and peaceful spot in the heart of nature, and it is easy to reach. The cottage is beautifully decorated and the spaces are spacious, suitable for several people. Everything you need for a longer stay is provided. A beautiful fireplace brings atmosphere and warmth during the cooler seasons. The beds are just right for our taste — not too soft. The premises are clean and well-maintained both inside and out. Especially for summer holidays, there is plenty to do, also for families with children. The owner is friendly, helpful, and honest. I warmly recommend this place for use all year round.

We had a wonderful time in this house! Everything was very clean, bright, and cozy. A special mention goes to the breathtaking view — we enjoyed it every single day. It was important for us that the property is pet-friendly, and being able to bring our dogs was a huge plus. A Time to Relax!
A spacious house that has everything you could possibly need. The private pier provides a great sense of privacy, and the view is priceless. It is the perfect place to truly unwind. The well-maintained grounds offer plenty of leisure activities (SUPs, boats, and a private BBQ at the house). Check-in was seamless, the directions to the property were very well-marked, and there was a dedicated contact person on-site who was always happy to help with any questions. We had a wonderful time and give this place our absolute recommendation.

ONNI Village has exceeded our expectations. Everything was absolutely excellent, the cottage is very well maintained, very clean and has everything for a comfortable stay. This is a rare combination of being far away from a city, enjoying nature and having full comfort. Internet connection, TV, all amenities were great. On a rainy day you can just read and watch movies enjoying the view from your window. What makes this place unique is a sauna inside the house which you can enjoy and then jump in the lake. The host was very nice and easy to communicate and attended all our requests immediately. Great playground with toys for kids, sandy beach, boats, bikes and gorgeous nature. Highly recommend and would like to come there again.

Picturesque nature, peace, and quiet!
An incredibly scenic location. The cottages are large and spacious. There is a dedicated kids’ room with toys and drawing materials. The living and dining area is huge and features a fireplace with unlimited firewood provided. In the lakefront cottage, the sauna is large and heats up very quickly. Having two toilets was a huge plus for a large family.
The kitchen is fully equipped with all the necessary dishes and cleaning supplies. Note: spices and other cooking essentials are not provided, so you should bring your own. There is a small local shop about 15 km away for groceries.
For our 2.5-year-old, the staff prepared a sled, a travel cot, and a baby bath. A high chair was also available. A major highlight was the drying cabinet—perfect for drying clothes after playing in the snow. Alexander, the manager, was very welcoming! We will definitely be back in the summer!

The best summer ever – according to the kids!
The location is very private and peacefully away from the city. Both the nature and the rental houses are beautiful! There are great opportunities for fishing, swimming, and outdoor sports in the forest. The children loved running between our house and our friends’ cottage, enjoying every single minute of the holiday. It was a safe environment where even the smaller children could be independent. A wonderfully relaxing holiday
We stayed here in August 2022 and were able to truly unwind in complete tranquility. The cottages are very well-maintained, clean, and equipped with everything you need for daily life – from a well-stocked kitchen to various household appliances and a private sauna. We stayed in the ‘Forest Cottage,’ which surprisingly offered a wonderful view of the lake.
If you ask kindly, you can even borrow fishing gear and – almost unimaginable for Germans – catch fish without a license (though you’ll need to find your own bait). The Wi-Fi and internet access in the cottage are excellent. Finding the place was no problem as there are plenty of signposts. All in all, we were very satisfied and would love to come back.

Magnificent!
ONNI Village is simply a paradise. Beautiful surroundings, privacy, peace, and quiet. The cottage is spacious, tastefully furnished, and yet very practical. The long pier leading to the lake is magical. We stayed in Cottage E, where we found a homemade fishing rod by a tree near the water. Just be prepared for a slightly weaker Wi-Fi signal. We were very reluctant to leave this wonderful place.

Onni village: a place to truly feel lucky
Everything. Toys for our one year old in the bedroom. the water view with large panel windows. The fireplace in the house. The stars at night. The surprise berry picking even though it was end of season. Our dog being able to zoom around the backyard. The grill with handy equipment. The entrance to the patio from the sauna. The playground was amazing for any age, swings and sandpit for the child and zip line and equipment for us. They will tell you to bring so we were well prepared. And they are nearby if we need anything. Any age will enjoy this place and there will be something for everyone.

Exceptional!
The location on Lake Saimaa is truly magnificent. You’ll find everything you need for a wonderful few days by the lake: a private beach (during high season, we were often the only ones there!), a children’s playground, a rowing boat (motor optional), toys for the kids, and a sauna. This was our second stay here, and we highly recommend it.
The beds could be a bit wider and softer, but that is probably a matter of personal preference.

Stunning accommodation in a little piece of Finnish paradise
Wow! Onni Village is a little paradise in the middle of a stunning area of Finland. The accommodation is of a very high standard (better even than in the photos), and each lodge (there are 7 on the site) have huge floor to ceiling windows that down the side facing lake Saimaa. The place was spotless and so well equipped, with great touches like a sauna, free fire wood, life jackets, free use of a rowing boat and a great children’s playground with trampoline and zipwire. The host was really excellent and nothing was too much trouble. You can also hire motors for the boat, paddleboards and skis. There are bikes free to use (although only a couple of small helmets) on site and once back on the proper road (Onni Village is 3.8Km down a good forest track) you can travel easily for miles. The nearest shop is in Utula (15 mins drive) and is small, but very well stocked. Huuhanranta beach is stunning and an easy cycle away (the beach is sand and the water is very shallow, so is very safe for children). Don’t be put off by the distance from Helsinki. It is a VERY easy 4 hour drive along very quiet motorways and other roads from Helsinki airport and once there, you can relax and enjoy the beauty of this unspoilt area.
